Contact lenses

Hey! I know that I haven't been posting any articles recently. However, I've decided to fix it up.
Today I'd like to write about contact lenses as I know that many of you use them. However, it's not always the cheapest stuff. Fortunately, there are e-shops which offer not only contact lenses but also solutions and other stuff for health and comfort of your eyes.
My favourite brand of contact lenses, solutions and other products that I use in the care of my eyes is definitely Bausch & Lomb. I´ve been wearing lenses for about five years and I´ve always used SofLens 59. I´am absolutely satisfied with their quality and the price, too.

To my mind, usually the main reason why people are afraid of contact lenses is the fear of strange feeling that something is in their eyes. In fact, when you have right lenses you don´t feel anything at all in your eyes. What´s more it´s even more comfortable than glasses as you usually feel them on your face as well as it´s not very practical by doing sports, dancing, having a shower, etc.
However, the prices of contact lenses sold by ophthalmologists can force you to continue to wear glasses. Fortunately, as I´d written before there are e-shops which offer lenses much cheaper. One of my favourite is www.sosovky-kontaktne.sk . You can use there this voucher to get everything even cheaper: DCND4KZRMUOK. This company runs the e-shops in more countries in Europe such as Great Britain.

I hope that this post will help you to decide about contact lenses and if you have any questions just let me know in a comment and I´ll try to help you.

Eating at home or in restaurant

I prefer eating in restaurants as I am not very good at cooking. However I like food prepared at home, too. But both in a restaurant and at home food must be prepared well and must be tasty and healthy.

I am really exacting about food. When I eat outside, the restaurant must be really good and food prepared in a clean way. I don’t say that a restaurant must be extremely expensive, but I rather pay more and have food of high quality than save some little money and have bad and not tasty food` what’s more there is a chance to be sick because of such a food.

Fast-foods are nowadays extremely popular. Although, I am not a big fan of them as the majority of them offer junk and unhealthy food. I don’t claim that I eat only salubrious food, but why should I eat something what is not tasty and healthy as well. To my mind, many people, usually teenagers, eat in fast-food because their friends and classmates do and so it is cool. On the other hand some fast-foods offer really good and healthy food, too; or example a baguette with fresh vegetable and meet of high quality. Such a food looks and also tastes absolutely delicious.

In my opinion almost everyone likes home-prepared food, especially by his mother or grandmother. And I do, too. Both my mum and grandma cook absolutely fantastic, but obviously, I didn’t inherit this ability. What any restaurant in the world can’t have are the traditional recipes of each family that are inherited by generations. This is something like a treasure and proud of many families.

In fact, I don’t have the exact answer if I prefer to eat in a restaurant or at home. I think that both food and atmosphere of restaurant and also home has an original spirit and the best way to choose from these two options is to combine them.

Museums

To my mind, it’s a pity when people think that a museum is an absolutely tedious place and they even can’t imagine they could enjoy a visit of a museum. Museum is also sometimes a paragon of boring school trip or a place for boring people who are interested only in books and there is nothing funny about them. However, there are many interesting and sometimes even funny things that cause that you won’t be bored in a museum in any case.

People usually visit a museum when they travel to some new places. It can be during summer vacation or a trip to a country or city. And why they do that? In the majority cases they want to know something more about the place or about its history. The other reason can be they just have nothing to do during a long time of leisure activities or a trip to a museum was offered to them by their tour guide.

Other group of visitors is the people who are passion about history or only a concrete era of history is their passion, so they travel to the place that was a center of that part of history, to visit a museum or maybe even more of them.

Anyway, the reason of visiting a museum is not so important. The most important thing is what the museum gives us. There are many salutary things as new knowledge, historical skill, new hobby, new friends, new story, etc.

A lot of famous and successful people, such as Cicero or J. Edgar Hoover, said that of the most necessary things of successful and prosperous society is to know history, as we can learn from success and also mistakes of our ancestors.

By and large, a museum can always give you something, but it’s up to you to choose the right one.

Sports activities vs. university libraries

I am definitely persuaded that universities should give same amount of money to students’ sports activities and libraries.

And why? The reason is simple. Why should for example studying of economics have higher position than studying something where you need sports facilities.

I know when you study something connected with sport you also need books and material that can be found in libraries as well as students who study for example medicine. On the other hand also students studying medicine need to relax and why not on the playground? Not only sportsmen need gyms and sports stuff as well as not only swots need a library. So why should be sport discriminated only because someone thinks not so many students are interested in it.

Other reason why we should support sport is, that probably more people would do some sport if they had more opportunities and better facilities. I supposed I don’t have to explain anybody how is sport and exercises important. The majority of people sit much more hours per day than they move. It is necessary to support doing sport and motivate people to do that.

What’s more, nowadays it is such a trend that the better sports facilities the better school it is. However, sometimes less is more. Because when you have some complicated fitness machines and don’t know what to do with them, it’s a waste of money to buy them. Simple playground for football, ice-hockey or ice-skating would be better, cheaper and probably students would have there much more fun.

To sum up, both libraries and sports activities are important and we should take ancients Greeks as example as they believed in kalokagathia – the harmony between wisdom and body.

Success and Luck

First of all; what is luck? I am persuaded that no one knows the exact definition of this word. So how can we objectively answer the question if luck has something to do with success?

By and large, luck is often understood as coincidence, lucky and helpful coincidence. Frankly, I don’t believe in coincidence, as I’m persuaded that everything is happening for some reason, so we shouldn’t regret things in our past.

In fact, I don’t know any other “definition” of luck except the one which I have presented above. To my mind, many people use this word without knowledge of its right meaning. For example, somebody achieves something and says “I have luck”, “Luck helped me”, “Luck for very important in that case”, or something similar. But do these people really know, what they said? I think, that using the word “luck” they mean positive circumstances for them. And there I must agree – they are really important and influential. Although, the most important thing is one’s belief in himself, in his abilities and qualities.

Though I have written about salutary circumstances, we can’t rely only on them. Preparation, knowledge of the thing, qualities, talent, will and, as I’ve said, belief are also very important. To sum up, there are many factors which influence success and result of something at all. I believe that more important than thinking about the reasons of success is to succeed.

Small town or big city?

I would definitely choose a big city! Probably many people would disagree with me, but I don’t see anything why should be a small town better than a big city.

I adore the atmosphere and energy in big cities. It’s something what you can’t find anywhere else. I like people hastening in the morning and also the nightlife. I am not a type of person who goes to clubs and discos, but if you live in a metropolis there is always a great place to go and something to do. For example some historical places, parks, theatres, cinemas, parties and so forth.

Many people are persuaded that the life in a big city is very exhausting and stressful. In my case it’s absolutely different. It’s as though the city gives me energy and I feel more joyful and positive. Probably it’s because of the atmosphere and the city life at all, because I like it so much; and when you do what you like and live a life you want you always feel happy.

About Cicero it’s said that he drew energy from city – its courts, senate, squares… And because of that he didn’t like to leave Rome. His secretary, Tiro, said about him, he never saw such a city man as Cicero was. And so I absolutely understand him.

Of course, it depends on a person, however, I wouldn’t feel good in a small aloof town, because I would always have a feeling and desire to go to a bigger town to find something what I would missed in a small town. When I am in a large city I feel wonderful and don’t have a need to go somewhere else at that moment.

To sum up, I adore big cities as New York and also big cities with an amazing history as Paris. And I am absolutely sure that I want to live, whole my live, in such a world metropolis.

Has televison destroyed communication among friends and family?

My answer to this question is “no”. This statement would be more suitable for the internet and social networks.

To my mind television didn’t destroy our communication as it’s not another way of communication like the internet or telecommunication. We watch TV for fun, when we are bored or for some people is a habit to switch their TV on in the evening. I know, that some people spend whole days watching movies and series and reality shows and so on, but we can noticed that the internet caused that television is not so popular anymore. It’s more comfortable to watch a film whenever we want and without adverts.

We can even say that sometimes TV even enhances communication among people. For example, two people have obviously nothing in common, but they can watch the same program. Suddenly there is a topic to talk about.

Reading of books was much greater affected by the invention of TV than our communicating habits. Before that time people hadn’t had many other options to see a good movie or story, so they had read it in a book. In my opinion, we almost can’t compare book with TV, but for lazier ones is watching a movie much more comfortable than reading it. However, books are still very popular and hopefully TV and books will be two separated ways of entertainment forever and won’t threat each other.

Anyway, back to communication and TV. Maybe there are some cases when somebody sits all days watching TV and doesn’t realize the world around him. So we can say that the television caused it. However, I don’t think so. Probably this person even doesn’t know what he is watching and if we ask him he can merely answer. It’s not about TV, but about the person, who maybe has some problems and runs away from them for example by watching TV.

Frankly, while you are watching the TV, aren’t you usually talking with other persons in a room? Or if nobody but you is in a room you often do also something else. So TV isn’t something on what we must concentrate and can’t do anything else.

Finally, as I said at the beginning, my answer is “no”, TV didn’t destroy communication among people.
